The Texas Avenue Makers Fair Celebrates a Year of Fun

On November 5th, 2011, the Texas Avenue Makers Fair celebrated its one-year anniversary. It’s hard to believe that the community has embraced the Makers Fair and have helped us grow by leaps and bounds!

Held each Spring and Fall, the Texas Avenue Community Association (TACA) will host the Spring 2012 fair on April 14th from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

Located at the corner of Texas Avenue and Common Street in downtown Shreveport, the Makers Fair re-creates the lively vibe that once

was commonplace in this historic, downtown neighborhood. The Texas Avenue Makers Fair was founded as a way to draw the community

to this under-utilized section of Downtown Shreveport as the Texas Avenue Community Association and other organizations work to

revitalize the area.

Makers (Vendors) will be offering a wide assortment of hand-made, re-purposed, or reconstructed items ranging from clothing and fashion accessories to toys, food, and art.

An unusual assortment of roving entertainers and performances are scheduled throughout the day-  you will never experience the same Makers Fair twice.

Admission is free and abundant free parking is available near the event.
